Language Arts:
East
Coast Trip: This is the place to go for information about the
annual trip to the East Coast. If you like to travel and see exciting
new places, people, and things, consider joining Ms. Manwell and other Skyridge
and Liberty
students on the trip of a lifetime this June. This trip coincides perfectly with
the 8th grade American history curriculum and is a wonderful enrichment
opportunity for students. Destinations on this year's trip include New York
City, Gettysburg, PA, Washington, D.C., and Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.

The Glory Field: Our final novel
unit of the year is a piece of historical fiction taking students through
250 years of American history.
Literature Response Circles: This site runs down
the basics of our class "LRC's", including a philosophy behind this practice
and what students and teachers might hope to see as a result of having used
them. There's also helpful links to reviews of the books we have in our LRC
library.
